abe's audio live: dj: wedding tips
- Plan ahead and book your entertainment early. Many popular dates (especially in spring and summer) fill fast, so it’s never too early to book.
- If your wedding ceremony is outdoors, you’ll almost certainly need a microphone so that guests can hear the service, and most importantly, your vows. You’ll need to think about the music for the bridal entrance, signing of the register, and for the end of the ceremony.
- Jazz or instrumental guitar music is fantastic to play before a wedding ceremony. It helps create a really good atmosphere.
- Did you know the time it takes to sign the register and pose for photos is usually longer then 3 minutes, the average duration of a song? If you’ve chosen a song to play when you sign the register, we can seamlessly edit it in our production studios to make it run for a longer duration. Or, you may like to pick another song to play as a backup.
- The cheapest DJ won't necessarily be the best. Find out what equipment they use; is it of a professional standard? Do they supply a wireless microphone for your MC and speeches? Will they meet with you before the day to discuss your requirements and song choice? Will they take requests from guests on the night? Is there a backup option if they are sick? Are they properly licensed? Don’t be caught out trying to save a few dollars and then being disappointed with the service you receive.
- Think about songs that have special meaning to you that you would like played, and let us know beforehand. We can source almost any song, if we don’t already have it.
- If you want to dance at your wedding, make sure you leave adequate room for a dance floor when planning the room layout.
