3 tips for an effective radio commercial.
1. Keep the message simple.
One single message or one offer in your radio ad means you leave the listener in no doubt as to your message. Hearing multiple points in an ad can be like trying to catching a bucketful of ping-pong balls - it's difficult to grab one when there are so many options! Watch how a simple, effective radio ad can increase your online traffic here.
2. Less is more.
Resist the temptation to over-fill your ad. Too many words, and the message can easily get lost.
A good rule of thumb: at medium pace, a 30 second radio commercial has 72 words.
3. Cast the right voice.
The right voiceover talent is crucial to the success of your radio commercial. Knowing your target audience is the first step to casting the right voice, but that's not the only thing to consider. Did you know that females are more suited to technology, but male voices sell cars better? Or, you might like to cast an unexpected voice for extra cut-through. Talk to us if you'd like some ideas.
